1. It's common for the media to give Han Dong-hoon extensive coverage. They want to amplify his voice and saturate the airwaves with it. This is a person who, despite not even having voting rights, entered the plenary session and then spread the absurd claim that he single-handedly prevented an insurrection. He merely tried to save himself through a personal betrayal of Yoon Suk-yeol and has no connection whatsoever to the struggle for democratization. Yet, the media is promoting him as if he possesses great political power. This is a public deception campaign to put Han Dong-hoon forward in the face of the conservative political establishment's collapse.

2. On December 8, 2024, we witnessed a bizarre scene. (The single photo below says it all.) After the martial law insurrection failed, and just before the impeachment vote on December 7, Yoon Suk-yeol suddenly held a press conference announcing that he would entrust state affairs to the party. This was a ploy to somehow prevent his impeachment vote. He was begging for the help of the People Power Party. The next day, December 8, then-People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo announced that they would remove Yoon Suk-yeol from office and jointly operate the government. It was an absurd show.

3. Although this political manipulation was ultimately nullified, a legal and historical review of it is now necessary. This is because Han Dong-hoon was the main instigator who attempted another form of coup, seizing state power without any legal basis during a national emergency.

4. Why is that?

First, it is not only ridiculous but also illegal for Yoon Suk-yeol, who instigated the insurrection, to talk about entrusting state affairs to the party. Yoon Suk-yeol, the leader of the insurrection, is already unqualified to say such things, and the People Power Party, being an accomplice and a party to the insurrection, their talk of governing the country was merely an extension of the insurrection.

Second, just as Han Duck-soo was concluded to be an insurrectionist in the trial for punishing the insurrection, on December 8, 2024, Han Duck-soo was already an insurrectionist. Therefore, the talk of government operation by Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the insurrectionist party, and Han Duck-soo, the insurrectionist, was merely another coup by insurrectionist forces, albeit in a different form. It must never be forgotten that Han Dong-hoon's relationship with Yoon Suk-yeol may have broken down, but he was at the center of the insurrectionist forces.

Third, in the incomplete space of eradicating rebellion, such rebels continue to run rampant. Han Dong-hoon is the core of the political prosecution, which is the backbone of the rebellious forces, and he is trying to reassemble that cartel. Just as Chun Doo-hwan rose to power after Park Chung-hee disappeared, Han Dong-hoon is a man consumed by the ambition to ascend to the position vacated by Yoon Suk-yeol. If the theme of the last local election was the eradication of rebellion, Han Dong-hoon would have been the target of eradication, and we would not have had to see him again.

The Democratic Party should accuse the People Power Party of being a rebellious party subject to dissolution, and also accuse Han Dong-hoon as a rebel. If they cower, citing political retaliation as a backlash, they will truly face the reactionary backlash of the rebellious forces. To properly handle this legally, the impeachment of Cho Hee-dae is an urgent priority. Do not hesitate any longer. Do not leave behind eternal regret.
